Senators confirmed President Donald Trump’s nominee for drug czar on Tuesday, a leading role as the administration seeks to crack down on drug trafficking and ease restrictions on marijuana.

The Senate voted 52-48 to confirm Sara Bailey as director of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy. Bailey, a former Fox News contributor, faced opposition from Democrats who accused her of lacking the credentials to serve as the top drug policy official.
