US House Again Rejects Democratic Attempt to Limit Iran War

House Republicans again blocked an attempt by Democrats to try to force President Donald Trump to end hostilities in Iran.

The 213 to 214 vote Thursday was the latest attempt by Democrats to force Republicans to go on record defending the unpopular war in the Middle East, which has dented Trump’s approval ratings amid rising gas prices and plunging consumer sentiment.

The vote follows a similar 47 to 52 defeat for a war powers resolution in the Senate on Wednesday, which also largely fell along partisan lines.
