The White House pulled the nomination of EJ Antoni to lead the Bureau of Labor Statistics, throwing the leadership of the critical data agency into further disarray after President Donald Trump fired the former commissioner.
“EJ Antoni remains a great ally of the President and our team,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a briefing Wednesday. “It became clear, unfortunately, that he was not going to have the votes, and so we will be announcing a replacement nominee very soon.”
