ANALYSIS: Female Lawyers Still Lag Behind Males in Well-Being

A higher percentage of female attorneys reported experiencing mental and physical health issues last year than their male counterparts did. These results are consistent with those from previous years, yet new survey data from Bloomberg Law suggests that the well-being situation for female attorneys may be improving.

The Bloomberg Law Workload and Hours 2024 Wrap-Up Survey asked over 1,000 attorneys about 12 mental, physical, and personal issues they might have faced over the past year. For 10 of the categories, higher percentages of female respondents than male respondents said that they experienced the issue.
