BioLife Plasma Defeats Proposed Online Tracker Class Action

BioLife Plasma Services LP shook off a class action after a federal court said the plaintiffs who brought the suit lacked standing to bring their California wiretapping claims.

The plaintiffs said that their IP and email addresses were collected by third party trackers installed on BioLife’s website could be used to complete consumer profiles and target advertising. But by itself the allegation failed to describe how the plaintiffs were actually injured, Judge Kirk E. Sherriff, of the US District Court for the Eastern District of California, said.
