US PROSECUTORS are pursuing cases against people for assaulting or resisting federal officers in Washington after the White House-imposed summer takeover of city policing — in sharp contrast to the clemency grants or dismissal of similar counts in the assaults of more than 140 police officers during the 2021 Capitol riot, Justin Wise reports.
