Former IRS Acting Top Lawyer William Paul to Return to Role

The IRS’s principal deputy chief counsel, William Paul, will take on the agency’s acting chief counsel role again, an IRS official said.

Paul will fill in for IRS Chief Counsel Majorie Rollinson, whose last day is this week and who took office in March 2024, said Rachel Levy, associate chief counsel at the Office of the Chief Counsel. Levy’s comments came Thursday at the D.C. Bar Tax Conference.
