Expiration of the GOP’s 2017 tax law is speeding campaign contributions from big business and other interests seeking to woo lawmakers in charge of the renewal.
House and Senate Republican tax writers saw a more than 60% fundraising first quarter bump compared with the same period two years ago. It comes as lawmakers work on a multitrillion-dollar bill to extend individual and business tax cuts that expire at year’s end if Congress doesn’t act.
