Trump’s Treasury Tax Policy Pick Wins Senate Confirmation

Ken Kies, President Donald Trump’s pick to be the top tax policy official at the Treasury Department, won the approval of the Senate Thursday.

The Senate voted along party lines, 53-45, to approve Kies’s nomination to serve as assistant secretary for tax policy at Treasury, installing a key figure to implement changes in tax policy coming with the expected extension of the 2017 GOP tax provisions.
