When the boss talks, they can require their employees to listen. That’s the position a coalition of California business groups will argue in federal court today in Sacramento.
They’re seeking a preliminary injunction to block Attorney General Rob Bonta from enforcing California’s new ban on captive audience meetings, mandatory workplace gatherings that focus on politics, religion, or union membership. The ban took effect Jan. 1 after Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) signed SB 399 last September.
The lawsuit, pending in US District Court for the Eastern District of California, is one of two challenging the state’s new captive audience ban. ...
