LA Olympics Chief Lauds Trump as President Questions City Safety

Los Angeles Olympics chair Casey Wasserman praised Donald Trump’s administration for its help preparing the 2028 Summer Games, even as the president has publicly questioned whether the city is safe enough to host the global event.

Wasserman said the local organizing committee, LA28, has enlisted dozens of federal agencies to assist with everything from improving public transit to minting Olympic medals, even going so far as to ensure that the Department of Agriculture can swiftly clear horses for equestrian events. He said that coordination with Washington is critical to managing complex logistics across multiple agencies.
