Emcasco Insurance Co. ended its lawsuit against a Texas-based stone slab distributor over liability coverage for litigation brought by a fabrication worker who allegedly died from exposure to silica contained in stone products.
The carrier agreed to defend Verona Marble Co. in the underlying case and is working to reach an “amicable resolution” with other liability insurers, Emcasco said in a Thursday filing in the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas. Emcasco indicated that a settlement is anticipated.
