Defining AI Bias Challenges Companies Under New Trump AI Plan

President Donald Trump’s AI action plan is jolting companies to closely test their AI systems for anything that can be construed as bias by the administration.

The plan, released last week, says that the artificial intelligence systems should be free of ideological bias, designed to pursue “objective truth,” and recommends that a risk management framework for AI models from a federal agency remove references to climate change, DEI and misinformation. A related executive order from the president says: “LLMs shall be neutral, nonpartisan tools that do not manipulate responses in favor of ideological dogmas such as DEI.”
