The House returns this week to vote on five disapproval resolutions under the Congressional Review Act, including to overturn Environmental Protection Agency waivers allowing California to set stricter vehicle emissions standards.
Other resolutions would block Interior Department rules designating the longfin smelt as an endangered species and restricting off-road vehicle use in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.
The Rules Committee will meet today to set the terms of floor debate on those resolutions, which require a simple majority to pass.
Lawmakers will consider 18 bills under suspension of the rules, which require a two-thirds majority for passage.
