Steve Cohen’s Point72 Asset Management is taking another step to bulk up its cryptocurrency-trading operation.
The $24.4 billion firm hired Elie Galam as head of crypto for the centralized quant business at Cubist Systematic Strategies, according to a person familiar with the matter. Galam will start this month and build a team that will create algorithms to trade spot and derivative cryptocurrencies.
