Switzerland Gazettes Draft Bill to Further Extend Special VAT Rate for Hotels

The Swiss Official Gazette May 8 published Federal Decree Nos. FF 2026 1140 and FF 2026 1141, on a draft bill to further extend, to Dec. 31, 2035, from Dec. 31, 2027, the 3.8 percent special VAT rate for accommodation services provided by hotels and supplementary hotels. The law would enter into force Jan. 1, 2028, subject to a referendum. [Switzerland, Official Gazette, 05/08/26]
