Washington DOR Clarifies Taxability of Income From Providing DJ Services

The Washington Department of Revenue (DOR) issued guidance clarifying that income from providing DJ services is subject to the state’s business and occupation (B&O) tax under the Service and Other Activities classification. The DOR states that DJs are required to pay retail sales or use tax on any equipment purchases or rentals used in providing their services.
