Many Republicans are still pushing to claw back the Democrats’ tax-and-climate law’s energy tax credits, even as the GOP-led House tax panel advanced legislation attempting to balance the clashing wants of the caucus.
House Republicans in April passed a bill to raise the debt limit that sought to cut as much from the deficit as they could, which meant a broad clawback of the energy credits. That wasn’t without some cost, though, as a rebellion from the Iowa delegation ultimately saved some biofuel credits from the chopping block.
