EEOC Can’t Enforce Pregnancy Rule Against Catholic Employers (1)

A federal judge in North Dakota enjoined the EEOC from enforcing anti-bias laws and regulations against a group of Catholic employers in a manner that would require them to accommodate abortion and fertility treatments.

At issue in the case are the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s new pregnancy bias regulation that provides workplace accommodations for abortions and fertility treatments, recently issued workplace harassment guidance that includes protections for LGBTQ+ workers, and the agency’s application of Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
