A split Fifth Circuit panel has affirmed a district court’s decision to set aside a jury award of $6.56 million to a medical resident whose contract was terminated after complaints surfaced about his workplace behavior.

The district court didn’t err when it set aside a jury’s verdict that the medical center had breached a contract with the resident, Dr. Joseph Papin, said Judge Stephen A.
