The federal agency tasked with protecting workers is moving forward with plans to update its hazardous chemical labeling requirements, a senior OSHA official said Sept. 24.
Maureen Ruskin, deputy chief of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration directorate that writes new rules, said the goal is to issue a notice of proposed rulemaking in December. That announcement will set off several months of public comment and agency reviews.
“It is still one of the agency’s priorities,” Ruskin told a gathering of the Society for Chemical Hazard Communication in Arlington, Va.
