Kirkland Nabs Former DOJ Acting Criminal Division Head in NY

Matthew Galeotti joined Kirkland & Ellis as a partner in its litigation practice in New York, the firm announced Monday.

Galeotti served as Acting Assistant Attorney General for the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice, where he oversaw federal criminal enforcement nationwide, including corporate enforcement, foreign bribery, sanctions and money laundering, cybercrime, healthcare fraud and other complex matters.

Before his appointment at Main Justice, he was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of New York, where he prosecuted business and securities frauds, cybercrime, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations, organized crime and other complex cases, the firm said. ...
