Miami Judge Disbarred for Campaign Finance Reporting Violations

Repeat campaign finance “errors” timed to benefit his campaign have led to the disbarment of a Miami-Dade County judge who argued for leniency after resigning from the bench, Florida’s highest court ruled.

Miguel Fernando Mirabal “engaged in a deliberate pattern of dishonesty” by “repeatedly” certifying false campaign finance reports, the unanimous Florida Supreme Court said Thursday.
