Paul Weiss has hired three antitrust partners from A&O Shearman in Washington, including a former practice group leader.
David Higbee, Ben Gris and Djordje Petkoski have moved to Paul Weiss, the firm said in a release Monday. The trio provide antitrust counseling on mergers, government and internal investigations and litigation matters.
Higbee, a former chief of staff and deputy assistant attorney general in the Department of Justice’s antitrust division, was global head of antitrust and an executive committee member at A&O Shearman.
A spokesperson from A&O Shearman said: “We thank David, Ben, and Djordje for the contribution they have made to the firm and wish them all the best for the future.”
A&O Shearman has continued to see partner departures following its transatlantic merger, which was completed in May last year. Still, the firm surpassed its revenue expectations when it announced last month $3.7 billion for fiscal 2025.
For its part, Paul Weiss saw departures from its litigation department this year following a deal it struck with the Trump administration to get out from under an executive order targeting the firm. The firm this month hired litigation partner Masha Hansford, who’d served in the Solicitor General’s office. In August the firm added former Quinn Emanuel lawyer Leo Kitchen as a litigation partner in London.
