A coalition of 17 red state attorneys general have filed a lawsuit against the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, targeting its addition of abortion in recently finalized regulations protecting pregnant workers.
In a complaint filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas, Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti, alongside Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin, led a group challenging the EEOC’s Pregnant Workers Fairness Act rules on Administrative Procedure Act grounds.
The plaintiff states asked for the court to stay the implementation of the rules and enjoin their enforcement against the group of states.
