South by Southwest Loses Covid Insurance Row With Chubb Unit

South by Southwest failed in its bid to get insurance coverage from a Chubb unit for pandemic-related cancellation of its 2020 festival.

Federal Insurance Co. doesn’t owe SXSW LLC, the media and technology festival’s organizer, any insurance payment because the policy’s contract excludes contract-related coverage, US Magistrate Judge Susan Hightower of the US District Court for the Western District of Texas said in a ruling issued Tuesday.
