UPS Workers Land Class Status for Post-Security Check Pay Claims

United Parcel Service Inc. workers can pursue as a class their claims that it illegally refused to pay them for time spent walking between a security checkpoint and a time clock.

The workers showed that class treatment is the best way to resolve whether Pennsylvania law requires the shipping company to pay workers for their journeys through its warehouses, said Judge Joshua D. Wolson of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
