MGM’s $2.3 Billion New York Casino Proposal Wins Key Support (1)

MGM Resorts International’s proposal for a $2.3 billion expansion of its Empire City Casino in Yonkers, New York, will advance to a state board after clearing a key vote by a local advisory committee.

The bid is the first for a downstate New York casino to gain support from one of the community advisory groups created as part of the state licensing process. Three proposals that would have placed a casino in Manhattan were rejected last week.
