Patent owner Express Mobile Inc. failed to revive a $40 million jury verdict against Shopify, as the Federal Circuit backed a court’s move to throw out the verdict and an administrative tribunal’s invalidation of claims in three of the underlying patents.

The US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on Monday affirmed two district court decisions for Shopify over Express Mobile Inc.'s allegations of patent infringement.
