Foes of Trump’s $1.8 Billion Fund Vow to Keep Fighting in Courts

Opponents of the $1.8 billion fund proposed to settle President Donald Trump’s lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service say they aren’t abandoning their court fights following reports that US officials may drop the plan.

The Trump administration on Monday privately signaled it was pausing the so-called anti-weaponization fund, Bloomberg and other media reported, but the Justice Department hasn’t announced a formal cancellation of the settlement.

The administration is also proceeding with a separate provision to bar federal agencies from investigations or claims related to past tax returns of the president, his family members and his businesses, Bloomberg reported on ...
