The spouse of a former Starbucks Corp. employee asked a federal judge to sign off on a $775,000 class settlement over the coffee chain’s COBRA notices, but the deal may not be final.

Plaintiff Raphy Lubin asked a Florida federal judge to preliminarily approve a class settlement requiring Starbucks to pay $325,000 to nearly 25,000 class members while separately paying $450,000 in attorneys’ fees and costs. But his motion, filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida, included multiple caveats suggesting that the parties may not be on the same page about the deal. ...
