A Michigan federal district court denied summary judgment to City Shield Security Services on the claims of a Black security guard that he faced disparate treatment racial discrimination when he was discharged, in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and Section 1981, ruling that there was evidence that a White security guard was treated more favorably under similar circumstances, including not being punished as severely for the same offenses and later being rehired.
