Delta Air Lines Inc. has been sued by a Black former flight purser contending the carrier discriminated against her because of her age, race, disability and other factors, then punished her for objecting.

ShaWanna Glover filed her lawsuit Friday at the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York. In it she alleges that after being diagnosed with asthma and a seizure disorder in 2020—and amid the Covid-19 pandemic—she asked to be permitted to wear a face shield or mask that did not restrict her breathing as a reasonable accommodation.
