Delta Retiree Loses Suit Over $322,000 Disability Benefit Snafu

A retired Delta Air Lines Inc. employee who received $322,000 in overpaid disability benefits lost his lawsuit seeking to avoid reimbursing the airline’s long-term disability plan.

Judge Donald C. Coggins Jr. on Sept. 13 entered judgment in favor of the Delta disability plan, saying it had acted appropriately and followed plan terms when requesting a refund of overpayments made to the employee between 2010 and 2020.
