An immigrant help group urged the Michigan Supreme Court on Wednesday to revive its lawsuit over a state policy of denying workers living in the country illegally wage-loss benefits because of their immigration status.
The state Court of Appeals tossed the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center’s case against Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) because it wrongly concluded that the group blew past a one-year filing deadline spelled out in state law, said attorney David S. Muraskin.
