Emission Monitoring Efforts Get Record Funding in EPA Grants (1)

The Biden administration announced $53 mllion for nationwide air monitoring projects on Thursday, doubling the number of projects that will receive grants to better track emissions in pollution-burdened communities.

The Environmental Protection Agency will help finance 132 monitoring projects across 37 states with funds from both the Inflation Reduction Act (Public Law 117-176) and the American Rescue Plan (Public Law 117-2). It’s “the largest investment in air monitoring in EPA’s history,” according to EPA Administrator Michael Regan.
