The Indiana attorney general’s office won’t approve hiring outside counsel from law firms that operate diversity, equity, and inclusion programs, according to a new policy memorandum.
The policy, which takes effect Oct. 24, prohibits contracting with firms that provide mentorship opportunities to employees based on race or sex, maintain a DEI officer or committee, or try to “achieve racial or sex balancing” within their workforce, the memo states.
In a news release, Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita (R) railed against “the radical left’s woke DEI agenda, which undermines our constitutional principles and divides Hoosiers with race-obsessed schemes.”
