Geothermal energy is drawing support from both parties on Capitol Hill as they seek to address anxiety over rising power costs.

Lawmakers have introduced several bipartisan bills aimed at permitting changes and increased federal funding for geothermal production, an alternative energy source that taps into heat underneath the earth’s surface for power. The push comes as prices surge in connection to demand from data centers and the war in Iran.
