President Donald Trump is heading back to America’s heartland in an attempt to refocus an economic message that’s been upstaged by controversy over his deportation policies and the killing of two protesters by federal officers.

In a visit to Iowa on Tuesday, the president will tour a local business, meet state lawmakers and deliver a speech “on affordability and on the economy,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Monday. Another White House official said the speech would give the president a chance to trumpet cooling inflation, accelerating growth and rising wages.
