Navy Accused of Flying Fighter Jets That Harm Endangered Bird

The US Navy was hit with a new lawsuit alleging the military branch is harming an endangered seabird species with increased flight exercises at an airbase outside of Seattle.

The Navy has “significantly increased” the use of a loud fighter jet over the marbled murrelet’s critical habitat, disrupting the bird’s ability to reproduce and forage, according to a complaint filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Western District of Washington.
