New York is urging federal energy regulators to reject a gas pipeline company’s requests to take action on its proposed Constitution Pipeline project, warning that the state could take legal action.

The New York Department of Environmental Conservation told the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in an official notice Wednesday that it opposes Constitution Pipeline Company LLC’s request for FERC to reissue a certificate to allow the project to go forward.
