US to Announce Critical Minerals Trade Deals, Burgum Says

The US plans to announce as many as 11 bilateral trade agreements this week, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said ahead of a ministerial event being held by the State Department Wednesday.

  • Burgum, speaking at an event Tuesday held by the Center for Strategic & International Studies, said such deals could provide “tariff-free trade exchanges” for critical and rare earth elements. The deals could also be used to set price floors for those commodities
