Anti-Trafficking Nonprofit Gets Court to Pause DEI Funding Ban

Freedom Network USA convinced a federal court to pause the enforcement of Trump administration policies that block federal funding for any organization whose mission is related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The Department of Justice needs to amend notices of funding opportunities it issued in December 2025 that impose conditions for grant funding based on whether an organization complies with the administration’s anti-DEI policies, the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois said in a Tuesday order.
