California Sets Company Emissions Reporting Deadline for Summer

California moved ahead Thursday with an Aug. 10 deadline for big companies to start disclosing greenhouse gas emissions, with a business-backed fight in court to stop the reporting still looming.

The California Air Resources Board adopted the compliance date after warning companies for months it planned to mandate the reporting this summer. A federal appeals court is considering whether to put the requirements on hold during litigation.
