FedEx Unit Sues Cloud, Says Contract Breaches Threaten Business

A FedEx Corp. unit sued Cloud Software Group Inc., saying its business faces “significant disruption” after the tech company cut off essential support services in a heavy-handed bid to renegotiate their longstanding contracts.

The lawsuit was filed Monday in Delaware by FedEx Corporate Services Inc., a subsidiary that supports the shipping and logistics giant’s other segments. The suit says Cloud’s Tibco Software Inc. division began cutting off FedEx’s access to critical tech support and maintenance two weeks ago, without any legal basis, as part of a broader push to switch customers over from licensing agreements to a subscription-based model.
