London’s decision to expand a low-emission zone has led to lower air pollution without impacting business footfall or spending, according to a report released by the mayor’s office.
A year after being implemented, measures to restrict the most-polluting vehicles from driving into a larger area of London lowered emissions of the health-harming pollutants nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and fine particulates throughout the city, the Greater London Authority said on Friday.
