A New Jersey commercial baker agreed to pay $180,000 in penalties to resolve nearly a dozen citations stemming from partial finger amputations suffered by an employee while at work.
Valenti’s Bakery LLC agreed to implement enhanced abatement measures such as retaining a third-party safety consultant and posting safety signage as part of the agreement with the US Department of Labor.
In the agreement, Valenti’s Bakery affirms the citations that include two willful, one repeat, six serious, and one failure-to-abate citation, according to a DOL press release.
OSHA investigated the company in June 2023 after the workplace accident.
