Red States Drop Suit After EEOC Transgender Guidance Vacated

The Trump administration and a group of Republican-led states filed to dismiss a case challenging transgender protections in the EEOC’s harassment guidance after a Texas court vacated that portion of the agency’s Biden-era policy.

The 18 states and the Department of Justice on Tuesday jointly sought to drop the case in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. A Texas federal judge in May struck down the language the states were challenging, which protected workers from misgendering and being forced to use facilities not aligned with their gender identities.
