Renault SA picked procurement chief Francois Provost to be its new chief executive officer, tapping a seasoned company insider to stabilize the French carmaker after the surprise departure of former boss Luca de Meo.

Provost, 57, will take over from interim CEO Duncan Minto on Thursday for a term of four years, Renault said, confirming an earlier Bloomberg report. He beat out candidates including Dacia boss Denis Le Vot and former Stellantis NV executive Maxime Picat, according to people familiar with the matter.
