Shift4 ‘CEO in Waiting’ Lauber Says Expansion Is Key to Growth

Shift4 Payments Inc.’s Taylor Lauber, slated to succeed founder Jared Isaacman as CEO once the technology entrepreneur is confirmed to lead NASA, said international expansion will be key to the payments company’s growth over the next few years.

Last month, Shift4 announced plans to acquire payments firm Global Blue Group Holdings AG for about $2.5 billion, including debt. The deal will expand the Center Valley, Pennsylvania-based company’s reach in 50-plus countries and increase the number of total employees to around 6,000, with 65% being based outside of the US. The transaction is expected to close this year.
